How Is the CROW Score Calculated?

Your CROW Score is a number from 0 to 10 that reflects how visible you are in publicly available records. Here is how we calculate it:

1. Record count. We search court filings, political donations, corporate filings, and business registrations. More records found means a higher base score.

2. Category multipliers. Not all records carry equal weight. Court records and legal filings contribute more to your score than routine business registrations, because they represent higher-sensitivity exposure.

3. Category diversity. Appearing in multiple categories (for example, both court records and political donations) increases your score more than many records in a single category.

4. Score cap. The maximum score is 10.0. Even if thousands of records are found, the score will not exceed this ceiling.

Your score is not a judgment -- it simply measures how much of your information is publicly accessible. A higher score means more of your life is in the public record.
